We use plastic plates, which are coloured to the appropriate room eg) red plates in red room, and depending on what the children have we may put snack in bowls or on plates and two special helpers for that day assist with passing around snack.

We use bowls for the fruit that they are choosing, and plates for the bread etc.

each child has a plate, we bought lots of small plastic ones from ikea, so each child places thier food choices onto a plate to carry to the table.

on the tables are larger bowls for any rubbish to be placed into

Ikea plastic plates & cups....they like to match the colours.

I like the rubbish bowl idea, not thought of that before !!

thank you i cannot take credit for them was my deputy, she got the in tesco
think they were part of the summer stuff, salad bowls maybe

DD preschool has the Ikea flower shaped plates, they are very sweet. My parents also have a set.
