Hi there snowy

I pretty much wrote the following and then used an example from my setting.

Why it is important to establish and agree respective roles and responsibilities with other professionals and how to do so

NVQ/SVQ Level 4 children’s learning and development
“When working with professionals from any discipline it is essential to develop effective working relationships from the outset. It is important to establish each persons roles and responsibilities and agree the limitations of these”

At the first meeting with other professionals everyone including myself will introduce themselves telling everyone where they’re from and their job roles and responsibilities. If my roles and responsibilities aren’t defined when working with other professionals a lack of understanding about what’s expected of me and problems may arise. It’s extremely important to know where your roles lie with external professionals in order to be able to access any help and advice I may need to enable everyone to be working towards a common objective. Everyone wants the best outcome for the child.

I hope this helps
