Notebook Snowman Craft

Makes 2. For this 3D craft you will need:

Card or sturdy paper
2 Polystyrene balls, one a little bigger than the other
Glue
Sharp knife
Glitter
Googly eyes
Fabric scraps
Small twigs

Cut the polystyrene balls in half and glue onto the card/paper to make your basic snowman. You can paint scenery on first if you wish. Add eyes, then hat, scarf, butons, arms etc using fabric and twigs. Use glitter for snow. This can be turned into a card, a picture or a calendar.

Just to put a 'risk dampener on this sorry :sorry: It isn't recommended that polystyrene be used near the under 3's (or older) because of the Choking hazard it posses and the fact that wind pipe blockages can't be detected by Xray!

This was the main reason why Bean bags were not allowed in our preschool or primary school library/classroom.

Of course, substituting the polystyrene balls for other types is good

OOOOH! Didn't know about the polystyrene ban! Try fluffy pompoms, or better still, make the pompoms with the kids. Erm....potato printed bodies? Good old cotton wool is always a good standby too!
