Book Review Book Review: The Night Time Pirates & other Pirate Book titles

Book review, play ideas and a short list of suggestions for more Pirate book titles ..

The Night Pirates - written by Peter Harris and Illustrated by Deborah Allwright

A wonderful rhyming book that engages the reader with bright adventurous illustrations and text that almost tells a story in itself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Up go the sails and up goes the flag.
All aboard for a night-time adventure.
When dark shadows come stealing
down Tom's bedroom walls he thinks it might be
monsters or ogres or trolls.
But the truth is much stranger.
It's Pirates !
(and very unusual pirates, at that.)
What do they want with the front of Tom's house?
and where are they going?
Tom is
about
to find
out ...
Other good pirate books iunclude:
Patrick the Pirate Pig - a very cute hardboard book with a great 'you can do whatever you want' tale to it and ... if Henrietta Hen can be a Parrot, Patrick Pig can certainly be a pirate ...
* Once upon a tide - Tony Mitton
This book has two front cover versions!!
