Biggrin April Fool's Day.. in a 'can' !

We have put together some ideas to amuse, surprise and hopefully entrance the children on this fun, lighthearted day.

Spindle Spider's - Joker colouring picture

Tricks and surprises

Sneaky Magnets - A good one for the surprise element - if you haven't got this in a science resource box already !!!
Use a paper plate and two magnets.
On the underside of one of your small world animals - like a ladybug or spider glue on one of the magnets.
Let the child see the insect moving freely on the top of the plate.
Then 'sneakily' use the other magnet from underneath the plate to 'bring the insect to life' and move it each time the child tries to touch it.

Magical moving hanky ....
Tie one end of a length of thread from the edge of a hankerchief or cloth and the other end to your shoe!
Place the Hanky as far away as the thread allows - then as you are stood or sat and a child passes by - ask them if they could please pick it up for you.
As they bend to pick it up - flick your foot so that the hanky/cloth moves away and surprises the child !

Traditional jokes

Whoopee cushions
Googly eyeball glasses
Chattering teeth
Wind up egg laying Chicken.

Websites

April Fool's day - Wikipedia
Has a nice ( although some quite 'amazing' ) selection of old pranks pulled on the general public !!

Just been looking online myself and had a good chuckle at this site:

Silly Jokes

These 2 pages on the same site are worth a visit if you don't have time for a browse:

Tartan Paint

Long Weight

These 2 are perfect for email gags!:rotfl:

And if you get fooled, here's a couple of email replies:

One of my favourite gags is for the person who LOVES their car. Simply wet some white or grey cotton sewing thread and lay along the paintwork in a prominent position - it really looks like a very deep scratch!!! I've got many people with this one! lol :rotfl:
