Hi, this seems more to do with what your policies & procedures contain and how you check them against lastest news so that they continue to reflect recommended guidance & best practice. Your annual review date could be a calendar point for liasing with external agencies/groups.

If you've a list of all the organisations your setting has contact with you may then be able to identify the aspects you might talk to them about eg. lscb updates, recruitment & DBS changes, H&S news, new forms, contact details, training information ...

Thanks for that. Since I have been at my setting we haven't had to speak to any of the organisations such as Police, Probation services etc. I would imagine we could liase with the school to make sure we are following the same procedures. We only speak to Health visitors, doctors if a child has special needs. Our Early Years Advisor comes regularly so we receive information from her. Would I just explain this but also say why we would need to liase with these agencies

Hi, yes speaking to health visitors would be to do with progress checks & referral process that safeguards health & well-being - which setting policy holds referral information?

The recent DBS changes might also be a consideration, with this taking over from the CBS does it impact on anything you have in your safeguarding policy for recruiting new staff/volunteers?

The HSE is also a department that relates directly to safeguarding/health & safety that you might find you refer to rather than liase directly with so that new information can update your policies depending on what they already contain?
