Book Review Terrible Troublesome Troll - and the little billy goat gruff

Ealry years book titles - preschool and home

The Terrible Troublesome Troll by Nick ward

Links are in association with our Amazon affiliate account

The story begins with the start of a new school year and Little billy goat gruff who loves school but finds many reasons to try and stay at home.

It isn't that he wants to stay home, rather he doesn't want to reach the rickety rackety bridge with his friend Tiny Mole and meet the scary troublesome troll who roars and growl and shouts to run .. after eating their lunches, pencils and school books.

Having decided enough is enough, Little Billy and Tiny Mole make a plan .. for days and days Little Billy adds some heavy rocks to his lunch bag, books and pencils and each day troll eats them .. un beknown to him, Tiny Mole has begun to dig a big hole beneath the ground where troll stands .. eventually, having swallowed another school bag full of rocks he falls down into the hole ...

Shocked and suddenly scared he begins to cry ' Don't leave me here all alone' - ' I didn't mean to be so Terribly Troublesome' .. until the hole had filled with tears.

Little Billy and Tiny Mole both feel sad for the Troll and wonder if they were wrong thinking he was scary .. maybe he had just been lonely .. so they both have another idea and from then on ' Little Billy, Tiny Mole and the not so Terrible-Troublesome-Troll toddle happily off to school .. togerther

A really cute story and wonderful illustrations. Great for continuing a traditional stories theme, pets and domesticated breeds.

Please post if you use the book in your setting and plan activities around it ..
