Alleviating the symptoms of Eczema

Learn how to alleviate the symptoms of Eczema
National Eczema Week highlights a rise in child sufferers

There’s nothing worse for parents than seeing their children in pain and while skin irritations are not often seen as a huge issue to many, parents of children who suffer from conditions such as eczema know just how hard it can be for their little ones to suffer from it.

And National Eczema Week has shown the condition is hugely affecting more and more British children and their families each year.

Around 12% of adults suffer from the condition, but it’s an even bigger issue for children, with up to 20% of them affected by eczema. And numbers suffering from it are on the increase, with 25% of babies in the UK now showing signs of eczema, with 160,000 infants diagnosed each year with the skin condition.

Eczema is an itchy inflammation of the skin that can affect any part of the body and start at any age and comes in many forms. For many, it is a form of allergy that can lead to constant pain and discomfort.

Listen to our podcast where skin care specialist Dr Steve Hewitt and Margaret Cox the Chief Executive of the National Eczema Society join with E45 to give you the best treatment advice and tips on how to alleviate your child’s symptoms.

with regard to your piece on eczema.

I have worked with many prem and full term babies and toddlers with eczema. Most of the creams that are used in my experience are not that good as they are all petro-chemicals which just sit on the skin and can actually irritate more.

I have a little girl who suffered terrible eczema and what I found to be an excellant bath wash is the Liz Earle Body Wash is softens the skin and keeps it moist taking away the dryness and itchiness the body cream was fantastic to put onto the dry patches or use all over the body -EXCELLANT. I have also used aromatherapy oils -you have to be careful which ones- these have proved to be good too. E45 and Aqueous creams I have found personally to be horrendous. Try and see the results. Liz Earle Body Washes can be used on babies skin with -as far as I am aware- no adverse effects.

Thank you for that I've stopped publishing press releases as found many weren't quite as transparent as they'd first appear.

Liz Earle rather than its parent company, also features in the BUAV's cruelty free shopping guide

You're welcome, fully understand about press releases, but having used certain products on babies and toddlers even older children good results have been obtained. I hate to see a small child suffering from this - crying and scratching, itching until it bleeds. If people do read this and have children with eczema try the product you just might be suprised with the results.
