Smile Blue Sky Thinking

Blue Sky Thinking

A term I come across in areas that ask people to look forwards ..'future projection, visionary thought and possibly expressive interpretation .. Building construction, consultancy, management, marketing and other more general business matters and

Einstein's thinking on youth and schooling from Wikipedia

When pinning down ideas & personal ideals be it from designing your perfect kitchen to a new sensory herb corner .. the practicalities are the realities that enable it to happen.

If everyone's up for a change at your next staff meeting - title it Sky Blue, or blue sky, set the agenda & have optimism at the ready ...

Blue Sky image : Our sky earlier today ..makes a change from the rain we usual have here lol

For a craft use the photo/text link to download a Blue Sky PDF - Laminate and place somewhere that the children can use it as a background for role play.

White paper - Tissue paper clouds, blue crayons/watery blue paint and a window to look out of are also great tools for building own skies.

Play and explore :
Use questions that help the Children look up ..
Birds - Seagulls, Sparrows, Balloons, Aeroplanes, Helicopters, Hot air balloons, Jets & noise, kites and holding up windmills ... what have they seen in the sky before ..

Risk assess for sunny days & raise awareness that the Sun is so bright it may hurt the eyes if looked at directly.
Include UV information & recommendations for looking out for 100% UV protection tags in the groups newsletters and open access notice board displays.

A nice story for this topic is:

Why is the Sky Blue - Sally Grindley & Susan Varley

Donkey and rabbit live in the same field. Rabbit is young and wants to learn and Donkey knows many of the Answers.

He tells rabbit he will explain why the sky is blue: But only if Rabbit sits still and listen.

Rabbit wants to learn and he agrees to sit still & listen .. but there are so many questions to be asked and so many places that need to be explored ...

Slowly Donkey understands that although Rabbit wants to know the answers to his questions there are always so many other things to find out about and that they are much more enjoyable when you find out about them together
