Coffee Last read news article ?

What was the last Childcare/work related news item you read and what were your thoughts on it ...

The last story I followed through was on a Scottish Councils' decision and change of mind in closing a number of Nurseries & schools .. The Scotsman

I admire their desicion to listen to all points of view & reverse the actions put in place .. but don't envy them the job of filling the financial gaps and making sure everyone knows & agrees to those new plans

I was intrigued to find out more when I read an article in Nursery World about dummies reducing the incidence of cot death in under 1s so I went on the site here - http://www.fsid.org.uk/dummies.html

- for more info and did some research on the original article

I've been thinking hard about it cos it's a tricky one - I can't be seen to preach to parents but equally I have a friend who lost a baby to cot death and if a dummy would have helped.... well, have decided to give out a copy of the fsid leaflet and let parents see I'm keeping them informed of new developments in medical research!
