Smile Hello I'm new to this

Hiya I'm Vickie and I'm due to go on my pre-reg training day on 7th July I'm a registered nurse and at the min I'm panicking there won't be a demand for child minders in the local area but I really want to do it so I'm taking the risk -eek!! My boyfriend currenly works from home as a music teacher/ musician so luckily he already has CRB checks (as do I but for emplyers so would need another one)
Any and all help and advice will be gratefully received

i wouldnt worry about the demand for childminders-people are always going to have children and so theres always going to be a demand for child care and so there will for the most part be some need for childminders.

Thanks SS, I've heard mixed reports from the local area, some people haven't even had enquiries whilst others have waiting lists! I suppose its all down to marketing......

Working for yourself is excellent lol .. it can be slightly isolating at times but much recommended

Word of mouth, professionalism and reputation can go a long way to attracting custom, are you already in contact with your local schools to see what links they build with minders in the area ?

Hi Vicky

Most local schools have a noticeboard - you could ask to put up an ad there...

And talk to everyone you meet about what you do.

I have my website address on the back of my car and have got business from that too.

Good luck!
