living in a village our local 'parade' is May day here, and the local pre-school take part...(not us I work in town)

Or our biggie is the November Carnival which celebrates 5th November.... It is about 112 entries, from large floats lit up size of double decker buses and small walking entries. it goes around several locations in the area over 10 days. Takes groups a full year to prepare the entries and lasts several hours. where I live out of town we can see the whole town lit up with an enormous glow all evening, and when you are there the heat from the floats is tremendous.

carnival photos 2006

Winner last year

Have a look at last years

Bit big for us to join but we always celebrate it in the setting!!

They are great photos, we went to see the carnival years ago & it was incredible !!

Also remember how cold it goes between the floats & their lightbulbs lol

Well worth the effort if you need to travel to it
