Work Experience guidelines ?

Has anyone had students in for work experience ?

What sort of paperwork do you have in place in order to offer placements ?

We have already drawn up a " policy " [as if we need to do any more] that is specifically for students and requirements for work placements Includes that if under 18 the college ensure they are suitable, do crb check and vouch for their character Dont know if this is what you needed Let me know if can be anymore help

we have a local comapny that does all the placements for all the scondary school in the area, and they come in and do helath and safety and risk assessments each year, the give us a certificate to say we can have students from them. we complete a lengthy questionnarie together, saying what the student can and cannot do, what to wear etc.etc

i find this easier than dealing with the individual schools as their policies were all different!!

Again a local company for schools and college also does a check at intervals..(sometimes by phone!!) H & S check , Insurance always recorded each year with both, if on long term ( more than 13 weeks) placement college send someone out with agreements between us and the college for individual student.
