Wide Eyed A few Activity ideas...

A few years ago, we decided as a group to hold a 'Headlice awareness day'!

These are some of the activities we all enjoyed together .. and apart from some horrified initial looks .. from adults!!! ... we had terrific fun!!!

Baby dolls in the water tray with cups, combs & brushes. a couple of empty shampoo bottles (just for squirting )

A smelly, feely activity with shampoo and conditioners. smell and smear them over sheets of paper (watch for sensitive skins with this activity).

Bubble blowing, Fill some shallow pots with water and shampoo, put them onto large trays and add straws and children We tried to blow/build the highest tower of bubbles!

black outline sheets for colouring and markmaking activities

At group time we had a relevant story and a chat about 'itchy heads'

This was just a basic Q&A time where the children found out that it was ok to have itchy heads and a good idea to let mums/dads/guardians know about it.

All children went home with an activity pack, soggy sleeves and DoH guidance on managing head lice outbreaks.

Well, Have fun .......................
