Coffee Easter Facts

Did you know that originally Easter was a pagan festival to celebrate the spring? The eggs and Easter Bunny predate Christianity. Spring was celebrated because it is a time of fertility; rabbits were associated with spring and fertility because of the obvious ability to reproduce and the egg is an ancient symbol of new life.

And.........

Simnel cake was originally a Mothering Sunday gift before it became associated with Easter! The cake was supposedly a test of a female's cooking skills - if it remained moist until Easter Sunday she was declared an excellent cook! (If only it was that easy!) or:vomit:!

So there you go, I hope you've learnt something new!
