Default How to write observations in nursery

Hi
I have worked in Key stage 2 for the last 10 years and now that I am doing my Diploma Level 3 I have been placed in foundation stage, I am not sure how to write observation about the children. I am not being supported by the class teacher of what is expected of me she continuously says I'm too inexperienced and should not be in nursery
I would be really helpful if some one can shed some light on this because at the moment I feel so stressed out

Azra

there are some superb books on observation methodology and application if you havent got them in the college library then amazon has them. the best simple one is
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1...SIN=140850488X and this is good too.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0...SIN=0435401866

there are variety of different methods which you need to demonstrate reading about them is the only way to embed them really

Hi, when it's next appropriate ask your class teacher if they know of a solution for inexperience & if they can help you find it.

As recommended there are some useful books available - another.
Many libraries have a title check facility online, maybe pop in to ask if they would order one in if not listed?

See what observational formats the nursery currently uses to record information, this will help to focus on what's expected of you within a workplace.

Best wishes xx
