Working with time to start

I currently am working with a 2 year old and was wondering how we get paid, I have tried to contact my DO but had no return phone calls. I have also been put on the spot due to the mother of the 2 year old as she is well known round here and the other parent has handed in her notice because of this and needed some advice regarding my situation.
