Highfive Bike Safety

Bicyles!


Safety Checks made on ..

Brakes ~ check they work !!!
Saddle ~ make sure the seat of the bike doesn't move
Chain ~ check it is oiled and moves freely
Lights ~ switch them on before travelling in the dark.
Tyres ~ Squeeze them to make sure they do not need re-inflating.
Stabillisers ~ are secure and not wobbly!

Before you ride off check ...

The Bike is the right size for you - on halfords.co.uk
Your helmet is on and fitted correctly.
You have a reflective jacket and working lights if travelling in the dark or half light.
That there's no dangly bits hanging from your clothes or bags.

FOR MORE INFORMATION

Do you know who your setting's local ROAD SAFETY unit officer is ?
Your county Council website should contain contact details.

Their Web address will be ~ www.YOURCOUNTYNAME.gov.uk then use the search box and type ~ Road safety.
