Hi im new on here and would appreciate some pointers in the right direction, seem to be having to come back to these questions

Give examples of barriers to equality and inclusive practice and explain the potential effects of these barriers on children and their families.

Explain how you provide colleagues with information about discrimination, inclusion and diversity. (other than the settings policies and procedures my brain wont work any further!)

Explain how issues of individual capacity may affect informed choice

Give examples of where you may need to balance the rights of children with your duty of care towards them and how you would respond.

Driving me mad now

barriers to inclusion could be your setting... if it is not a flat building could be a problem with access for wheelchair users etc. if the staff only speak english and a family/ child speak another language and english as a second language that could be a barrier. lack of knowledge about cultures etc could be a barrier. the location of the setting, so if its in the middle of nowhere, and just say how each would affect.

for the informed choice question... research gillack and fraser. they did a thing on mental health and ability to make informed choice.

duty of care one- for example if a parent asks you not to let their child (boy) play with dolls, you have a duty of care to the child to promote their rights within the uncrc etc to play, do you stop them and follow their parents wishes etc. and say about other things like this

hope this helps for some of it

Hi a very warm welcome to the forum and thanks for offering to help With apologies the upload and private message facilities are disabled to avoid misuse of work. You're most welcome to post the pointers you feel will benefit and guide readers in their response to the criteria eg. the policy titles you used, the schedules/meetings and practices within your setting that helped you complete.

Best wishes xx
