Default Cyp 3.3 Safeguarding Unit

Hello, I was wondering if anybody could please help me by explaining the difference between CYP 3.3 assessment criteria 2.1 and 3.1. Aren't safeguarding and protecting from harm the same thing? I would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi, welcome to the site. CYP 3.3 2.1 asks you to look at how important it is to work with others to ensure children are kept safe from harm. Where 3.1 asks you to look at the importance of, and how children are kept safe in your setting.

So for 2.1 you could see which organisations your setting works with eg. social services, NSPCC, Police, Fire brigade & inspections, HSE - RIDDOR & COSH, health professionals - GP & Health visitor's advice and guidance, training eg. LSCB

3.1 read through copies of your setting's/placement's policies and procedures for safeguarding.

Hth best wishes
