must agree about the kitchen rolls...no reason why not in contact with raw meats, eggs, chicken etc...so just as controversial as toilet rolls really.

It's all daft imo - you can't protect against every possibility or you wouldn't be able to use or do anything...

Recyclable stuff always has risk of contamination. Due to bacteria and stuff present in it natively which decomposes it.

Have worked alongside someone who was a nurse and she said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with using toilet rolls!

Toilet roll tubes were banned in nurseries in South Yorks in the late eighties - i had made many a model with loo rolls and egg boxes prior to that and never known any ill effects but it isn't until you really think about it - eughhhh there's nowt worse that a 2 year old learning to wipe their own bottom.
So, i was really shocked when my daughter started nursery last year and they were using loo rolls and to be honest i quite object to her having to handle loo rolls that may contain another persons insides. At that age they put their fingers in their mouths and i just think that it is really disgusting to use these in nursery. I don't have so much of a problem with egg boxes or kitchen towel rolls though. anne |
