CYPOP 2 culturally and ethnically care for children - nappy changing, hygiene routines and dental health?
Hi,
I have tried everything to find an answer to this question, but, just cannot get the info I need. Please, can anybody help me. It is on CYPOP 2 1.1 caring for hair/teeth/skin and nappy area, culturally and ethically. I am especially struggling on the teeth and nappy area. Thank you X |
Hi, culturally and ethNically :) xx will depend on your parents individual approaches and how you support that by taking their views into your setting. It would be a recommendation to consult with parents to discuss thier ideas and preferences, which can recognise their role as primary carer and respect that they are who knows their child best. This enables individualised planning that's culturally sensitive and promotes working in partnership.
Nappy rash and differing treatments, range of protective barrier creams, use of disposable nappies or cloth, time given for no nappy, frequency of changes. Ethical products, environmentally friendly maybe organic can be considerations parents have when sourcing items for their child's care. The importance that dental care is viewed with will vary and can involve the setting providing literature and guidance on how teeth are already growing in the gums of newborn babies, then erupt needing care that minimises the effects of sticky plaque, prevent decay and begin to show how establishing cleaning routines enables a positive outcome for oral hygiene & dental health. Culturally and ethnically, parents and carers ideas on the frequency or necessity of tooth & mouth cleaning, what to use and how will guide a setting's practice, inline with existing policies & procedures. Hi, I have been struggling with this one too. I have found lots of information but am struggling as this outcome says I need to 'demonstrate' I have a little girl in my room who's parents are socially conscious and thus want us to use their own organic and environmental friendly products such as nappies and sun cream, hey told me that they only use organic tooth paste and hair products as well. Do you think this will cover the outcome?
