Hi, how does the setting already monitor children's development?

Are there daily diaries, learning journey books? is there any more formal development record keeping going on?

Then consider what information you share/what you talk about when observing children in the setting. Is it possible that your colleagues are deployed to different areas and might see children reach developmental milestones that you're unable to?

How would a colleague let you know what they saw - verbally, post it notes? What would you do with that fresh information? update books, let parents know, plan new activities?

Are you expected to greet and chat with parents each morning/evening or do you share the responsibility with colleagues who professionally let you know any news they've been given about children's development & well-being?

eg. if a parent told a colleague that their child seemed a little unwell that morning, or that medication had changed how would your colleague respond - tell you, ask the parent to speak to another and how would that information then be used to make sure children were safe, healthy and enjoying their day?

Hth, best wishes & welcome xx
