ccld level 3

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and hope someone can help!

I am in the process of doing the level 3 and have done all I can on the theory aspect of this course and cannot do the practical until I find a placement - I am self funded.

Trying to get a placement is proving to be very difficult as I am already working - not in childcare so do not have the time to do both. I have tried to get a job in childcare but it is very difficult.

I have spoken with my tutor and she says that I cannot go any further and need to get a placement/job to complete the course.

In the meantime is there any aspect of the course that I can do while waiting as I want to keep at it.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thank you

Sheila

Hi can you not volunteer in your local school or playgroup a few hours a week at least you can be observed there when need be

Hi,

Thanks for reply. As I said before I don't have the time and really need to get a job in a nursery but it is very difficult. That is why I was hoping that I could do something else with the course while waiting for a job.

why on earth did you start the course and more importantly why did your college let you! you have lost your money the provider should be reported but the fact that you seem to think that yo can learn about childcare from theory is a lesson learnt!

i do agree with tutu, you really should of looked into the course before u started. before i started i worked as dinner lady at a local school as i couldn't get a job in childcare. to do my course i currently volunteer every morning at the same school and even got a job as a casual worker in their children's centre! i can't see how u can do the course without having a placement, as u need to be observed doing a physical activity and a creative activity.

i am currently having professional discussions with my assessor, that may be something you can ask your tutor about?

Hi,

I did look into this before I started and I haven't lost any money. I can continue doing this course anytime I want.
If the guys that have answered my question had read it properly you would have seen that all I wanted to know was if there was any part of the course that I could have continued doing as theory until I got a job or placement.
