CYP Core 3.6

Hello All,

I was just wondering if someone could give me advice on a question I have please. I'm answering CYP Core 3.6.1 (Working together for the benefit of children and young people)

Explain the assessment frameworks that are used in own UK Home Nation.

Am I correct in thinking that I need to talk about the CAF only??

Many thanks in advance.

this is what i put and it has been marked off,
Explain the assessment frameworks that are used in own UK Home Nation.

There is an assessment framework that is used in the UK which basically states the approach that must be used to assess the needs of a child or young person.
It is called CAF (care assessment framework) this is a four-step process whereby practitioners can identify a child's or young person's needs early, assess those needs holistically, deliver coordinated services and review progress. The CAF is designed to be used when a practitioner is worried about how well a child or young person is progressing (e.g. concerns about their health, development, welfare, behaviour, progress in learning or any other aspect of their wellbeing).
A child or young person, or their parent/carer, raises a concern with a practitioner or a child's or young person's needs are unclear, or broader than the practitioner's service can address.

There is a flow chart which shows a clear child centred approach-

Step 1 Identify needs early
Step 2 Asses those needs
Step 3 Deliver integrated services
Step 4 Review progress
hope this helps

Thanks for this. It's confirmed what I've put for this answer, so it's reassuring that I was on the right track.

Sorry, I can't help with unit 392. It's one I have the pleasure :sigh: of looking forward to.

Thanks again for your reply and good luck.
