Explain child protection within the wider concept
 

Hi, I am muddling my way through this unit and I had to leave this question Explain child protection within the wider concept of safeguarding children and young people.
I dont even know where to begin with this one, can anyone point me in the right direction, my head is just full of children acts and safeguarding policies, I am finding this unit really hard.

Hi, there are a few threads for this, if you use the search page look for the words 'wider concept of safeguarding'

In short safeguarding is everything that's done in a setting to keep children safe from harm. Child protection is one part of that huge, wide concept.

Look at your setting's safeguarding policy to see where it mentions child protection (protecting from abuse, neglect,) and what the separate child protection policy says.

The two terms - safeguarding and child protection are explained on page 110 of the handbook xx
