Longitudinal Study

Hi everyone

I am about to begin on my longitudinal study this week, and have chosen a child in the nursery where I volunteer, and have decided to study communication and language. I would like to choose narrative and checklist as my two observation methods.

My question here is really on how to begin this study - do I just observe the child in general, hoping that I will observe an area with their language that I would be able to plan an activity for? After observation, do I then plan an activity for the child around communication and language, using my ob as a starting point?

Sorry to sound so vague, but it really is just getting started on this that concerns me, as I want to get it right!
Many thanks

use the paperwork in the learner log plan 4 to 6 ons over the weeks and focus on the chosen area.
