Hi a very warm welcome to the site.

If you work in england you need to read the EYFS which is the current framework for Early Years education. The other home nations - Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland each have their own frameworks.

There are currently 7 areas of learning in the EYFS - 3 prime areas; physical development, personal social and emotional development, and then communication and language development. There are then 4 specific areas of learning - mathematics, literacy, art & design, and understanding the world.

Page 298 of the Early Years Educator handbook looks at holistic development and how the areas of learning link to and are dependent on each other - open the 'look inside' feature on the amazon preview and then search for the word holistic.

However, page 230 of the CYPW handbook looks specifically at this, search for the word interdependent inside the amazon preview.

The handbooks depend on your course so the index page inside the one you that have may also help.

Best wishes xx
