Hi, this is covered on page 98 of the Supporting Teaching and Learning course book page 98

It explains how, in 2011 a former government advisor developed a checklist on how to manage children's behaviour effectively.
The key principles for head teachers to help improve school behaviour iunclude:
  • Ensure absolute clarity about the expeced standards of students behaviour.
  • Ensure that behaviour policy is clearly understood by all staff, parents and students.
  • Display school rules clearly in classes and around the building. Staff and children should know what they are.
  • Display the tariff or sanctions and rewards in each class.
  • Have a system in place for ensuring ythat children never miss out on sanctions or rewards.
Behaviour checklist for teaching staff
  • Know the names ansd roles of any adults in class
  • Meet and greet students when they come into the classroom.
  • Display rules in the class - and ensure that the students and staff know what they are.
  • Display the tariff or sanctions in classs.
  • Have a system in place to follow through with all sanctions
  • Display the tariff of rewards in class.
  • Have a system in place to follow through with all rewards.
  • Have a visual timetable on the wall.
  • Follow the school behaviour policy.
For morre detail you can read the report here - Charlie Taylor: Getting the simple things right

Hope this helps xx
