we have recently had portage in for the first time since i started at playgroup (7years) and they were really helpful
they observed said child for 3 hours and then gave us a verbal and written report and suggestions, ideas on what to do, they have also visited at home and helped mum out a lot

we have them visit when we have a child who is using the service, help us with ideas and plans, supply us with resources and generally work with us and the parents and other agencies involved, often had meeting in the setting of other groups who had the child, speech therapist and portage to discuss ways forward.. portage organised it with us and we supplied the venue.

I am thinking of applying to become a portage worker, does anyone have any advice or experience they could give?
