Breast feeding support ?

Breastfeeding awareness campaign starts next week 11th - 17th May 08 - Breastfeeding week NHS

Do Parents or staff ask about resources for this or do you have leaflets available in your parents area ?

Hi yes we have information about the local breast feeding peer support group, which has meetings in the village community centre. I went on their ten week course recently, run by the nhs- and it's free. I am now a breast feeding peer supporter and attend weekly meetings-if I'm not working, there's no pressure though. It means my contact details are available to mums who might just need a listening ear, or a pat on the back and a bit of encouragement. I can now offer new mums or second time mums at nursery ,support if they want to feed themselves. I'm a nhs volunteer and go into hospital to help mums who are trying to feed-midwives just don't have the time to sit for as long as it takes. The emphasis is it's mum's choice and we just support. Mum's - and Dads just grab me when they want me now and if i don't know how to help I find someone else from the group who can
