Using a painting window
Does anyone here have a painting window? If so, what sort of paint do you use on it? I have seen that acrylic paint is recommended but we would like to avoid that if possible. I'm thinking that the paint needs to be a bit thicker than usual, so was wondering about adding cornflour to the paint.
Thanks :cheerful: |
Sounds great, I've never tried a window aimed specifically at play, just cleaned mud, handprints, smiley faces & bird visits from the house ones :D agree with avoiding acrylic paint - finger paint that uses a gel base may apply well to smooth surface & give a transparent appearance .. would there be time to cook up a plain cornflour - or arrowroot - & water mix & add paint to it ?
Interested to hear if anyone has tried Vege-Gel as a finger paint ! |
Thanks for the reply- interested in knowing your painting recipe- I know how to make cornflour paint but would need to ideally make up the day before and keep (can keep airtight). Would that last? What does the arrowroot do?
I think I'm going to need to practice a few mixtures LOL |
Finger paint paste
I should think it would be fine kept in an airtight container - given a good shake & mix before next use !
4 largish spoonfuls of cornflour to a pint of water - cooked, has been a nice consistency for textured paste - adding poster paint once the paste has cooled. Good for holding bits of collaging materials in place as well. Is this about the same as cornflour paint? Arrowroot has the same thickening qualities as in some jellies / Fruit flan gels - haven't looked for it in a long time though ! Let us know how the practice runs go :D |
