what do they mean by........make sure your behviour with children is appropriate at all times. this is meant to be a performance criteria one

where did you see that?

that the behaviour shown by yourself is age appropriate i.e. you would comfort a baby or toddler by holding them or placing them on your knee, you wouldn't do that with a teenager

it means using apropriate body language, verbal language, getting on their level, not having too high or too low expectations, giving encouragement etc, being firm if needed but not abusive, using anti bias anti discriminatory practice, ensuring that you show you value their oppinion, treat children like individuals and human beings, being a positive role model, taking into concideration the childs age and stage, never promise to keep a secret etc showing child you get on with their parent/s etc

you will get quotes from the childrens act, ofsted, human rights act, and various theories
