Medication & use before dates ?

Who takes responsibility for checking medication is still required and in date in your group and have parents requested they come in to help administer it?

As a childminder I am solely responsible so I have devised a monthly audit form.

I check dates and tell parents I am about to return almost time expired medication ... hopefully for safe disposal.

If they don't take the 'telling' hint, I write it in a note for them.

This means I give myself time to get new stuff in before relinquishing what's about to go out of date.

I check dosage instructions and medication requirements every day because we cannot give anything without prior written permission.

I have never had parents wanting to come back for anything... :rotfl:
