Coloured play sand ?

This is an unaffiliated link to Homebase.co.uk - Coloured play sand search , has anyone used this in their sand play?

How was it recieved and what activities would you recommend for others to use with it?

I've just asked for sand - I was told that they were just going past homebase and would stop and get some ~hope they get the coloured bags!!

we use coloured sand from the pots in our tuff spot......... well the staff make pretty patterns with it in the mornings..,and, when the children arrive- they use the scappers to make a big pile of 'mush colour'!!!!!!!!!!!

actually was in a setting this week that didnt have a sand tray they had just piled it in the corner and made it into a beach! it was soooo much better the children could sit in it and play feel it in their toes etc far nicer than a sand tray. they change it weekly and brush it in to the corner every night. it was very well used.
