Risk assessment for children on medication

Does anyone have a risk assessment form they would be happy to share with me for children on medication i.e. asthma inhalers.

The new Policies from the PSLA state we should have one for children on medication.

TIA

We use the same RA forms for all our risks including idividual children- they just have one per 'risked' child.

Sorry that's not much help to you is it?!

I risk assess -

the storage of medication - it must be out of sight and reach but immediately accessible

think about children who self medicate and how to monitor them

paperwork for medication and how / when it is completed / shared with parents esp those who might not come to the setting

giving medication - enough, too much, not enough

when the child might need hospitalisation or further help

what to do if or when medication runs out or goes out of date

taking medication on outings

Hope this helps
