The Light House
The Light House officially opened its doors in early 2006, when families from across south Derbyshire were able to view the specially-designed new facility.
The centre, in St Mark's Road, Derby, is for children with disabilities and challenging learning behaviour and is a joint project between Derby City Council and Derby Primary Care Trust.
It offers day care and short residential breaks and has soft-play areas, sensory rooms, an IT play area, a children's kitchen, an activity area and outdoor play areas.
Residential accommodation includes 10 ensuite bedrooms which can cater for young people with different needs.
