Default Imitating adult behaviour - appropriate responses for role play smoking?

Hi,

I am currently working in our local pre-school whilst doing my level 3 diploma.
I know a lot of the children in our setting very well as we are a fairly small rural community albeit with a diverse range of families!
Whilst they were playing outside today I noticed two of the children role playing mummies and daughters which was lovely until I saw one of them pretending to smoke a cigarette, quite accurately as well! I went over to have a chat about what they were playing and what they liked etc.. and the child did say whilst reacting the smoking "I am being Mummy just like my mummy". I asked what else mummy does in the hope of steering away from the smoking part and it distracted quite easliy but is this something that should be noted down? I mentioned it to our play leader and she felt it was something that should be put down as an observation but nothing else came of it. I know kids do all sorts of behaviour copying but surely this one should be discouraged?
Any advice would be great

Thank you
