Hi you can research this on page 188 of the CYPW handbook

Quote: to ensure that children have the best outcomes there is evidence to show that they need to share in determining their future and should be given a voice to make choices and contribute their experiences.


Consider the choice to be active instead of sedentary and the affect that has on physical and mental health. Having drinks and foods high in fat/salt/sugar instead of ones that are low in these. Making decisions over the choice to be safe or take unacceptable risks.

For young people the choices they have regarding drugs, alcohol, pregnancy and their own sexual health can impact on their outcomes and life chances.
