Hi guys

I am doing the NVQ 3 CCLD and will soon be starting a teaching assistant post, getting a bit nervous about that but equally excited too.
I have 2 boys who will be in the same school I am working in. My youngest starts school on the 6th so big adjustments for us all.

anyway I look forward to getting to know people on here and to share the tears, stresses and the happy moments of this new term!

Hi there, congratulations on getting the TA position and good luck with your NVQ! I am a teaching assistant too, specifically with EAL children, and two of my three children also attend the school I am working at, so it would be interesting to compare notes later on some time to see if our experiences are similar!

My children were at the same school that I worked in, many moons ago! It all went very well when they were in 'my group'. There were never any accusations of favouritism or anything, and looking back at those times shows it to have been a positive experience for my children too.
