Hi all

Have hit a brick wall with questions k3c272 and k3c273. I have got in my head what it should be, but finding it difficult to word or put down on paper. I cannot find any help in the text book I have. Any tips, help or suggestions would be most helpful as my brain is in meltdown. Thanks

Cheers

Hi
Thansk for replying. The question is: 272: The importance of respecting childrens background and culture and of encouraging families to participate within the setting.!!!!
273 is: The importance of protecting children care routines and ensuring they are not subject to abuse or explotiation at any time they are present in the setting.

I know that they need their privacy respected etc... and should be cared for with care and respect their rights and privacy etc but I just cannot think , do I just write that down, its the part about abuse/exploitation that has thrown me.

Any help would be wondeful
your a star cheers

its about discrimination and the effects-if a child is discriminated against because of their background etc they will loose self esteem, may feel alienated and different and may become withdrawn, display unwanted behaviour, digress, act out, loose confidence and stop learning/joining in etc it can also then effect their relationships and mental health both now and in the future, it can also cause the child to grow up with hatred-hitler. its important to celerbrate differences, teach children and adults to be tollorent of each other, use ab/ad practice and inclusivness as we live in a multi cultural suciety. encouraging parents to set a good example is important as children learn from observing(bandura) and parents can be involved in teaching children about cultures etc by doing talks.

every child has rights and no child deserves to have abuse or exploitation-childrens act/human rights act etc. it can effect their holistic development and their lifes in the future-for example a child who is laughed at for praying before a meal may become embarrissed about doing this. its so they can grow up learn and develop and have a strong sense of self. children need confidence to learn-vygotsky

include parents, children, practice, staff, leglislation, theorists etc

sorry just a quick answer hope it helps
