SOS Unit 3.1 - 3.2 How childrens stages of development change their play needs and preferences for 5-7 years

Hi,

I am currently working through Unit 3.1 and am struggling with section 3.2 'How children's stage of development change their play needs and preferences'.

Penny Tassoni's textbook is great, although in this particular section there is absolutely no guidance on 5-7 year olds, and as I do not work with children of this age group, I have no working experience to go from either!

I guess that playing games with rules is still true of this age range but I'm stuck for what else to say...

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, a warm welcome to the site. Does the table on page 97 & 98 coupled with the information on pages 56, 57 and 314 help?

Best wishes xx

Thank you for your fast response! I think I may have a different textbook, as the page numbers you mention do not relate to play...
I have 'Early Years Educator - for the work based learner' (9781471808067).
I don't suppose you know whether this book includes any info that will help me?

I have looked through it but am still stumped :-(
