Default HELP please!! Strategies to support children & parent where abuse is suspected

Hi
This is my first post.
Feel like I'm hitting my head against a wall with this one its the last question then i can finally submit the safeguarding unit.
Unit 303 - 3.5 explain strategies that support children and parents or carers in situations where harm or abuse are suspected or alleged

I just cant seem to get my head around it, have tried emailing my assessor for help but got no reply!

Andy advice to get me started and point me in the right direction would be really helpful

Thank you

Kirsty

Hi your setting will have a policy and set of procedures that staff must follow in order to protect the child, acknowledge and respect the rights of the family.

3.5 explain strategies that support children and parents or carers in situations where harm or abuse are suspected or alleged

Consider if any of these seem familiar

Have a place where confidential information can be shared appropriately in privacy.

Ensure the child's key person is involved as they will have the closest relationship with child and family.

Be able to explain the setting's child protection policy, the concerns that have been raised and the process which will happen calmly, without judgement or bias.

What else does your setting's policy say?

Hope this helps a little
