hi mizz c congrats on starting your nvq level 3, im half way through and tearing my hair out!!! K3P189 is talking about how you lift and carry children and equipment, how to keep safe so you dont cause injury to a child or yourself. The health and safety at work act 1974 is the legislation that covers it places overall responsibility for health and safety with the employer, but the employees have to ensure that everyone in the setting has some responsibility for the health and safety of everyone who is in the setting,

You can go on and write a procedure to show how you lift a child or a piece of equipment ie:

stand in front of the child or object with your feet at shoulder width apart.
always bend your knees.
assess the weight of the child/object.
make sure you are firmly holding the child/object.
test that you can lift safely lift, then lift.
avoid twisting or bending as you lift.

I hope this is a little bit helpful, gud luk
