Hi, welcome to the site. To help you plan your presentation some good resources to have on hand are your setting's policies and procedures, your own professional knowledge about the way your setting organises its physical care routines and your handbook.

The index of this level 3 EYE book lists these areas of care that you can include in the presentation. Considering the age of the child and their stage of development means looking at, for example nappy changing, toilet training and then moving on to using the toilet independently.
  • baths and showers? pg 36 & 50
  • cultural and religious preferences
  • face washing
  • hair
  • hand-washing
  • hygienic practices
  • mealtimes
  • nappy changing
  • role of practitioner
  • skin (eczema, nappy area, suncream)
  • supporting
  • teeth
  • toilet training
  • toileting
Physical care routines page 339

When it is nappy-changing time or sleep time, it is usual for children to have there own nappies or bedding so that they feel that they are special and individual and so promote a strong self-concept.

page 340
Mealtimes should be a pleasurable for babies and children. To promote independence and self-efficiency, children should be encouraged to feed themselves and to help themselves to food. Children should also be respected when they indicate that tey have eaten sufficiently. Through mealtimes, children can also learn that other children have different food preferences. They can also learn to enjoy the company of other children. Meal times also help children to learn the social associate wit sharing food with others - for example waiting to take turns or passing food to each other.

Physical care routines: dressing, toileting and hand washing are not only important for children's physical well-being, they are also important because they enable children to learn new skills and to become independent. It is important that equipment such as wash basins and coat pegs allow children easy access. It is also important for adults to allow sufficient time and to encourage children to do as much as they can independently.

Use the amazon preview to search eg for. shower then click to page 37

Hope this helps a little xx
