Default Supporting physical development

Hi all,
I'm onto 4.1 of cache level 3 Childcare and Education.

One of the sub-heading is -

Quote:
Discuss the role of the Early Years Practitioner when promoting child development in relation to Physical Development
Could anyone give me some help on which things to include.

Currently I have:
  • Information on the EYFS framework in relation to physical development and support
  • What areas of development physical actually are (fine, gross, coordination, balance, hand-eye, locomotive)
  • The interconnection to other areas
  • Correct planning and inclusion for physical activities
  • Room settings (indoor and outdoor)
  • Examples of supporting gross motor (ball play, which balls) (hula hoop, modelling examples of how to) Goup games (Mr Wolf?) how this encourages active children and reducing health problems (I included safety awareness, children with delays, disabilities, medical conditions)
  • Fine motor skill example (threading beads on strings, adapting the activity to ensure all ability levels are able to access it) Scissor practise
  • Self care - toileting, hand washing, independance (sensitive and confidential support)
  • Being a good role model in healthy active lifestyles

I feel like I have gone more onto support rather than promote as the assignment states.

I have a range of textbooks and currently work as a 1:1 in preschool (if that helps when replying)
Any help would be great.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

This 4.1 includes Cognitive - Speech Language Communication - Physical - Social and Emotional

Hi reading nicely :) pages 76 - 87 of this EYE handbook look specifically at this 4.1 criteria, search the 'look inside' feature for promoting child development & click to page 76.

Page 81 details handwashing, dressing & undressing, toileting and brushing teeth.

In addition to the information you have from the EYFS there's also the recommended guidelines for physical activity on gov.uk and your setting's parent partnership.

Best wishes x
