Hi, a very warm welcome to the site.
Policies, procedures and strategies are outlined on
page 43 of the City & Guilds Introduction
Strategies: Overall plans and aims
Policies: Specific aims of what the organisation wishes to do
Procedures: Actions that need to be followed to ensure the policy is put into practice
You need to ask your setting about these and check with your tutor to make sure you have all the information you need about children's rights so you're able to respond to the 312 2.1 criteria.
Page 14 of the NVQ level 3 Playwork handbook states
Quote:
Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure children's rights are met
Your organisation will have set policies and procedures that relate to and include the rights of the children and young people in your care. You may find that these have been thin place for quite a while and recent changes in legislation and thinking mean that they are now in need of reviewing and updating - or you may have recently updated them to bring them inlione wioth national and local initiatives and changes. Whichever applies to your setting there is always sapacope for evaluating these policies to ensure they include points in the *diagram below
* A setting's policies should:
- recognise that everyone has different needs
- explain what is meant by equality
- mention children's rights
- include the need for respect
- allow for inclusive play
- value preferences and wishes
- refer to and respect diversity
- promote privacy and dignity
- respect beleifs and culture
- relate to recent legislation and thinking
By evaluating your policies and procedures you will be able to judge the impact they have on children's rights. This will help you as a team to ensure the rights of children and young people in your setting are being met.
