Coffee Who pays?

For training courses ? Is it something you have to fund yourself, fundraise for. receive help with or do you only try to attend free ones?

in hampshire we have a book that comes out termly with a huge range of courses in, and we attend these. they are all free, and my preschool also pays staff for attending.
we also getr funidng for nvq fees which is good
and i have had a few grants to hell with my FD

many are funded from transformation fund via LEA , setting occasionally has to pay some fee...particularly for the H&S ones, First aid as well. Staff only get paid to attend if we can afford it or if it is compulsory, this varies as funds are unpredictable
FD has had a few grants as did mentors for FD students

our NVQs have been funded or currently staff are doing the Modern Apprenticeships so don't pay.

If the course is one that staff have been requested to attend-safeguarding children/literacy in the early years/risk assessment/first aid etc-then the setting will pay course fee, if the course is one that staff have chosen independently setting will consider paying the fee....really depends on finances at that time.
Setting also pays staff for attending these-but not travel expenses (which means staff are very reluctant to travel to the otherside of the county)
