St David’s day ideas (Dydd Dewi Sant) 1st March – patron saint of Wales

Make a daffodil using egg cartons
Look at, discuss and tear apart leeks
Make leek and potato soup
Make a Welsh flag (ensuring the dragon is looking left!!)
Talk about dragons and myths
Discuss why David is the Patron Saint of Wales
Talk welsh!!!!!!
Good morning - bore da (that's bore pronounced phonetically not bore as in English)
plant - children
pob - all (pronounced powb - think phonetics)
so, bore da plant, bore da pob - good morning children, good morning all.
Make cards

Leek printing

Observational drawings of daffodils

Castles and dragons

welsh cakes http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/da...es_67264.shtml and bara brith for snack www.red4.co.uk/Recipes/bara-brith.htm
look at pictures of children in Welsh costume.

Copied from elsewhere!!! thank you ladies! Sarah x
