Physical care needs of children
Physical care routines keep children healthy. They also prevent infection and so they are an important part of what happens in early years settings. It is good practice for physical care routines to be seen as learning opportunities rather than just activities in themselves.
Explain your role as an early years practitioner during:
• Nappy changing
• Toilet training
• Washing and bath time
• Care of skin, teeth and hair (include Afro-Carribean)
• Meal times
